Who We Are
Craig and Deborah Simon recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in July, 2020. Craig received his degree, BS in Education, from Tarleton State University, Texas in 2006. Deborah graduated from Alfred University, New York with a BS in Nursing in 1976. They are master scuba divers, enjoy camping, reading, and travel. One son, Drew, lives nearby in Fort Worth. Craig and Deborah reside in Granbury, Texas.
Deborah was diagnosed in July, 2019 year with HER2 + Breast Cancer. In the battle with breast cancer I discovered very few recourses for the husband to help deal with and support his wife, Deborah. Having written this book "We Survived Breast Cancer - The Husband's View" I hope to provide help for husbands to cope with breast cancer.
Dedication
I need to thank the husbands I talked with providing me insight into how each one dealt with their wife’s breast cancer. So many people offered support and advice it would be hard to list all for fear of leaving someone out. We met some wonderful and dedicated health care professionals instrumental in the care of my wife. One individual I must mention is the nurse that Deborah works with at her hospital, her partner, Pam Bauer. Pam provided the day to day advice and encouragement to my wife for which I am extremely thankful. Two of our closest couples must be mentioned for their support and love, Jack and Terri Sides, Joe and Judy Wooten. Each provided encouragement and advice for Deborah and I to beat breast cancer. Our heartfelt thanks to all.
